Alabama Early Childhood Nutrition Summit

The Early Childhood Nutrition Summit will bring to light issues the state of Alabama faces to ensure young children in child care receive the adequate and healthy nutrition they need to enter kindergarten ready to succeed. The broad goals of this event are to develop partnerships and identify plans to decrease food insecurity, increase breastfeeding rates, increase access to healthy foods and increase physical activity for children who attend all types of child care.

We are expecting participants from across the state to attend. Participants will include representatives from state agencies, resource and training organizations for child care providers, child advocates, organizations focused on the health of young children, state legislators, and other non-profit partners.

This Summit is FREE to attend and is a joint effort of the Alabama Partnership for Children, Alabama Department of Public Health, End Child Hunger in Alabama Task Force, Alabama Department of Education: Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Auburn University: Family Child Care Partnerships, VOICES for Alabama's Children, Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education, and Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries: Farm to School Program.
